I have to say this first. If my credit card was not almost full that week with hotel and flight costs I might never notice this thing called One-Dollar Freeze on QEEQ. That night I was still in the office very late. I opened my laptop to book a car for my business trip. The plan was to pick up the car in Tirana and drive into the city for meetings with a car from SIXT. In my head there was only one question. Do I need to pay a big hold again on my card. Then I saw the page said I only need to pay 1 dollar now and the rest is charged before the rental starts. I really thought maybe I read it wrong. I started to count my travel budget for the next days and I asked myself. Can I trust this. Should I check other websites. My card limit was not very high at that moment and I did not want an early big charge that might make my hotel payment fail. In the end I clicked confirm and paid just that 1 dollar. Their plan showed my pickup was around the night of May 30 around 11 pm so in the days before that I kept watching my phone and my credit card bill to see if some strange charge shows up. Nothing came. I felt a bit more relaxed. When the trip date was close I finally saw a big charge on my card and then I understood it was the rental amount. I laughed a little in my head and thought they really wait until the rental is near before they take the rest of the money. There was no extra interest and no weird fee. I did not need to change my limit or pay off a huge part of my card just for this booking. On pickup night I walked out of Tirana airport with my suitcase. The yellow lights were on the glass and I felt quite tired. But I knew the payment was already done before so I did not worry about paying a lot at the counter and that made me feel light. During the next days I drove around for client meetings. In the daytime I was on the road and at night in the hotel. Sometimes I remembered the moment I booked the car with only 1 dollar and I told myself this was a good choice because my credit card felt under less pressure.
