One-Dollar Freeze

The part I liked the most at the start was not even the car. It was how I paid. When I booked my car in Berry in France through QEEQ I saw a payment option called One-Dollar Freeze. It said I only needed to pay 1 dollar first to hold the booking. In my head I was like this is so good for someone like me with a tight student budget. I was still in the UK planning the trip. When I saw the total price I felt a bit nervous. I kept thinking about my credit card limit and if it would be too much. Normally when I book things it charges a big amount at once and the bill later feels heavy. This time I saw I only had to pay 1 dollar first so I clicked it right away. I just wanted to lock the car and not let my card get hit with a big charge at once. I felt a lot more relaxed. Closer to my France trip I suddenly remembered that the rest of the money would be taken later. For a few days I worried a bit. I wondered if I needed to do something by myself or if there would be some payment problem. When the time came the money was just taken from my card by itself. I checked my card bill a few times. There was no extra random fee and no interest added. That made me feel very calm. There was also a time when I thought about changing my plan and even maybe changing the car type. I felt that if they had taken the full amount at the start I would be very scared to book. I would just keep hesitating. With only 1 dollar paid I felt safer. The car was reserved for me and I could still think about my plan slowly. I did not feel like I would lose the booking or mess up my budget. In my mind I kept thinking good thing my credit card did not get hit all at once. When I arrived in Berry around the night of February 8 and went to pick up the car the staff at the counter only checked my booking and my documents. There was no extra trouble about payment because the rest had already been charged before as planned. I quietly let out a breath. Everything went just like I hoped. I did not need to stand at the counter trying to explain payments. At that moment I really felt how paying only 1 dollar first had reduced a lot of stress for me. Thinking back to the whole thing I feel this kind of plan is really good for young people like me. You can book the car early and your card does not get too much pressure at once. When you are preparing a trip abroad and you already have many other costs this way to pay makes the whole thing feel much easier on your mind.

One-Dollar Freeze

I started with a small problem in my head. My credit card limit was not very high and I still wanted to go alone to Bariloche for a few days. I made the booking on QEEQ and I chose their One-Dollar Freeze service. I only needed to pay 1 dollar first to lock the car. That night I was in bed with my phone in my hand. When I saw that the payment page only charged 1 dollar I felt a big relief. I did not feel that my card would be hit by a big bill at once. The trip was around February 7 and the night before I left for Bariloche I remembered the booking again. I checked my card and the rest of the money was already charged before the rental started. I did not have to think about when to pay or if I would forget. I did not need to make many small payments by myself. Everything was done quietly in the background. At that time I was busy packing my bag and checking my route. It felt like the money part was handled for me and I only needed to think about which jacket to bring and if my camera battery was full. On February 9 in the morning when I went to the rentacar argentina counter in Bariloche to pick up the Volkswagen Gol I felt very calm. The payment was already done so I only needed my documents. I stood near the parking area and looked at the cars. I thought that if my credit card had to pay the full amount at the start I might have waited a long time or even given up this solo trip. For someone like me who travels alone and needs to plan the budget carefully paying only 1 dollar first to secure the car and having no interest makes the pressure on my credit card much smaller. I could use my money more freely on the hotel and the flight. When I sat in the car adjusted the seat and slowly drove out of Bariloche I had one clear thought in my mind. It was that this easy 1 dollar start made it much easier for me to say yes to this journey.

One-Dollar Freeze

When I first made the booking, I felt pretty nervous. I was going to Istanbul alone and I had already paid for flights and hotels. When I saw the car rental price, my first thought was that my credit card might not handle it well. Then I noticed QEEQ had something called One-Dollar Freeze. I only needed to pay 1 dollar first to lock the car and the rest would be charged automatically before the rental started. There was no interest. That part really made me feel safe. I remember that night sitting in front of my laptop and doing all kinds of small budget math. I checked my flight bills and then looked at the rental price again. In my head I kept thinking that maybe I should wait until next month when the new bill came. When I saw I could book with just 1 dollar, I suddenly felt lighter. I could secure the car first and my credit card would not be under big stress right away. When I clicked pay, I paused for a few seconds and thought if it would really only charge 1 dollar. Then the bank text came and the amount was really just that small. I finally relaxed. A few days later I logged in again and saw the booking was confirmed with ESSENCE and the car was a Ford Fiesta with manual gear. It is a small car and that fits me since I travel alone with just a backpack. I started to picture myself going to pick up the car around 9 pm on February 11 in Istanbul. At the same time I kept thinking that I was lucky I only paid 1 dollar at the start. If I had paid the full amount right away, I would have been a lot more nervous when my other bills arrived. One day before my trip I saw a bank notice about a larger charge. Then I remembered the rest of the rental fee would be charged automatically. At that moment it felt like a step in a plan that finally arrived. I did not need to log in again or press any button or worry about the time of payment. It was just done for me. I checked the amount and it was the same as the price I saw before. There were no strange extra fees so I quietly felt relieved. I really like this feeling where you start light and then move on step by step. As a solo traveler I am always afraid of being crushed by many costs right at the start of a trip. One-Dollar Freeze let me fix my car in Istanbul first and then adjust the rest of my spending slowly. While I was getting ready for the journey, I was thankful many times in my head that I chose this way to book. It kept the pressure on my credit card much lower.

One-Dollar Freeze

When I think about my car rental in Valrico in the US, the first picture in my mind is me at the counter a few days ago finishing everything very easily. I was standing at the Dollar counter, giving my passport and my confirmation to the staff. I did not feel nervous at all, because I had already locked this car for my trip a long time before. Everything felt smooth and normal and when I got the key for the Nissan Versa, I had only one clear thought in my head. I was really glad I used QEEQ with the One-Dollar Freeze, because my money pressure before the trip would be much higher without it. The story actually started earlier when I was still at home in the UK planning this US trip. I had airplane tickets, hotels and plans for different days. When I looked at the total cost, my credit card bill already looked a bit scary. I did not want to use a lot of my card limit on the car rental at once. But I also knew I needed a car as an overseas tourist, especially in a place like Valrico. It is not very easy to move around without a car there. One night I was on their site looking at cars. I saw this automatic Nissan Versa with four doors and five seats. The size looked just right for me. I was thinking about booking it, but I was not sure if I should pay all the money right away. Then my eye caught the words One-Dollar Freeze. It said that I only needed to pay 1 dollar first to lock the booking. The rest would be charged automatically before the rental started and there was no interest. I stared at that line for a few seconds. It felt like this plan was made for my situation. At that time I had already paid a lot for flights and hotels. If I also paid the full car rental at once, my credit card limit would be very tight. I was also afraid that if I waited, the price might go up or the car might be gone. So I was stuck in the middle and could not decide. With the One-Dollar Freeze, I suddenly felt more relaxed. I could pay just 1 dollar and keep this car around February 8 around midday. Then I did not need to worry every day about payment or some problem. I clicked to confirm and when my phone showed that 1 dollar was paid, I almost laughed. It felt like I used a very small amount of money to fix one big part of my trip. After that I could focus on my visa, my travel plan and my work. Sometimes I thought about the car, but I did not feel stress because I knew it was already reserved. It also would not hit my card with a big charge right away. I only needed to make sure my card had enough limit. Before the rental start, they would charge the rest by themselves. I did not need to log in and pay again. I did not need to remember dates. For me it felt very easy. A few days before my flight, I checked my credit card and saw that the rest of the rental fee had been charged. Everything looked normal and there were no strange extra fees. At that moment I felt that this payment plan was really good for people like me who like to plan early but do not want to pay everything in one shot. I could confirm my schedule first and let the money follow later instead of letting my bill control my plans. When I finally landed in the US and walked to the Dollar counter with my luggage, I felt calm. I knew the car was paid. I also felt safe that I would not be pushed into some high price package at the desk. The staff checked my details and told me the parking spot number. When I pulled my suitcase toward the Nissan Versa, I suddenly remembered that night at home when I booked it with only 1 dollar. It felt like the whole process from planning to driving was very smooth. For this trip, the thing that stayed in my mind the most was not really the car itself. It was the feeling from the One-Dollar Freeze that let me fix my booking first and think about the rest slowly. As an overseas tourist arranging everything alone in the US for the first time, this way of paying made me feel much less tight from the very start. There was no interest and my credit card did not feel under big pressure, and I still had a car ready for me when I arrived.

One-Dollar Freeze

On my last day in Cape Town when I was about to return the car at the airport I kept thinking about one small thing. This whole trip started with just one dollar on my card. It was around the night of February 5th. I was at my desk at home with all my South Africa plans spread out. My flight was booked but I still had no car. I checked many sites. The prices were close but most of them wanted a big payment right away. I looked at my credit card bill and I did not feel good. The limit was already a bit tight and I did not want to block more money at once. Then I found QEEQ and saw a thing called One-Dollar Freeze. My first thought was that it sounded a bit unreal. I even said to myself in English in a low voice that it cannot be just one dollar to hold the booking right. I joked with my friend online and said I might just try it because losing one dollar is fine. I chose to pick up the car at Port Elizabeth Airport around the evening of February 7th and drop it off at Cape Town Airport around the evening of February 15th. The car was a Volkswagen T cross with automatic gear which is good for me as an overseas visitor. When I booked it the page showed I only needed to pay one dollar first and the rest would be charged before the rental started. I stared at my card message for a while and saw that it was really just a tiny amount. I felt a big relief at that moment. I thought that at least the car was locked in and I did not need to feel the pain of a big payment right now. In the next days I kept planning my South Africa trip booking activities and checking routes. I did not have to worry about the rental payment at all. I also did not need to watch my card limit every day. The pressure was a lot less. Close to my travel date I checked my bill and saw they had taken the rest of the money. It was the same amount as the price I saw before. No extra fee and no strange charge. I did a small calculation in my head. If they had taken all the money at the start I would probably feel nervous about my card limit the whole time. This one dollar way was much easier for someone like me who has to fly very far. When I landed in Port Elizabeth and went to the Budget counter to pick up the car the payment part was already done. The staff just checked my booking and gave me the keys of the Volkswagen T cross. I walked to the parking lot and watched the lights flash when I unlocked the car. I suddenly thought that if it was not for that one dollar start I might still be hesitating or even choose another place to book. That small one dollar made the whole booking process light and simple and it did not put heavy pressure on my credit card.

Dedicated customer service

"My bill shows more than six hundred dollars extra. Can you please check it for me" I said this into my phone a few days after I got home and I felt a bit nervous inside. I booked my Miami car through QEEQ. The car was a Chrysler Pacifica from Budget. It was a seven seat car. I remember I picked it up around the evening on December 25th 2025. It was about six after a long flight. I was tired and just wanted to finish the counter process fast and leave. The staff at the counter gave me a stack of papers and pointed where to sign. My head was not very clear. I did not read everything in detail. I thought it was just a normal rental contract. The real problem started after I returned the car. I brought it back in Miami a bit earlier than my plan. It was around the evening of December 30th. The return was simple. The staff checked the car and said I could go. I felt quite relaxed and thought the rental was finished in a smooth way. Then some days later I saw an extra charge of around six hundred dollars on my credit card. I was shocked. I tried to read the English invoice by myself. I saw items like PAE and ESP and RSN and E TOLL. There was also a big line that said something like miscellaneous fee. I could not remember that I agreed to all these things. I am from Japan and I am not very used to American rental words. The more I read the more confused I felt. I started to worry that I was tricked. So I contacted their customer service. At first I thought it would be like many platforms where every time a different person replies. This time it was not like that. Almost every time it was the same person following my case. During the first talk I told all my thoughts. I said I only wanted to pay the normal rental fee and I did not understand why there was so much extra and I did not remember adding so many services. They asked me some details with patience. They asked when I picked up the car and when I returned it and if something special happened. They also asked if the car was towed at any time. I felt a bit embarrassed and said yes. There was one time the car got towed because I parked in a place that I did not fully understand. Later I learned it was an illegal parking spot. That day I remember I contacted the rental location and they had to help get the car back. I already felt there might be some fee but I never thought it would be so high. Soon the customer service came back to me and said they had checked with the rental company. They found there were extra service fees and also a large fee related to the car being impounded. They explained each part to me in simple words. They said there was personal accident insurance and roadside assistance and electronic toll service and so on. They also told me that all these small items together would not reach such a high amount. The big part came from the impound cost after the car was towed. My feelings were mixed. I knew it was my own mistake with the parking and I had some responsibility. At the same time the explanation from the rental side felt very unclear. The big amount of a bit more than five hundred dollars did not have a clear bill. I told the customer service my worry. I said I could accept a fair fee but I wanted to know how they calculated it. Then there was a long time of back and forth. For me it did not feel too painful because every time I asked again the same person was still taking care of my case. They told me what the rental company replied and what they asked again. One time they told me that the rental company had returned part of the fuel charge. The money was not very big but I could feel they were trying to cut out the parts that were not fair. The thing that stayed in my mind most was that the rental company never gave a more detailed document about the impound fee. They only said it was a miscellaneous charge for impound due to illegal parking. I was a bit angry and also felt powerless. If I had to talk with the rental company alone I think I would have given up already. Every time I imagine myself trying to explain everything in English and listening to their professional words I just feel a headache. During this time the customer service kept giving me updates. Sometimes I did not even ask yet and I already received a new message. They said they had asked the rental company again and confirmed some parts or that some money really could not be refunded. Even though the rental side refused to give a better breakdown for the impound fee and insisted to keep it I now understand what each line on the invoice stands for. I know which parts really happened and which parts they already fought for and reduced. For a traveler like me in a foreign country this one to one follow up made me feel much safer. I did not need to tell the same story to a new person again and again. I also did not need to chase them every day for progress. It felt like they took this problem as their own and walked with it until the end. Every time my phone showed a new update I felt that someone was checking the bill line by line with the rental company and not ignoring me. Now when I think back the towing and parking issue is a lesson for me. When I drive in a new city I must be more careful. If I did not have this kind of dedicated customer service helping me explain and talk to the rental company I might still not understand the charges and I would feel very bad about the whole rental. The money did not fully come back but at least my mind is clear and I do not feel left alone in this problem.
