  If you hold a driver’s license from any country outside the 8 member states of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union, you are required to obtain a local temporary driver’s permit for Saint Kitts & Nevis. It is mandatory to acquire an E-Temporary License in advance using the following link: https://eservices.police.kn/ELicense/ If this is not completed before arrival, you will need to visit the Traffic Department to obtain one, which usually takes about 30 minutes.

  Original driving licence + International Driving Permit (IDP)

  Please note that an International Driving Permit(IDP) is only a translation.You must present your original driving licence with the original IDP at the counter.

  If your license is from outside the 8 ECC member states, you must get a temporary driver’s permit for Saint Kitts & Nevis. It’s best to apply online in advance at https://eservices.police.kn/ELicense/ . If you don’t, you’ll need to visit the Traffic Department after arrival, which takes about 30 minutes.
