  For customers with driver's licenses issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Slovenia, Monaco and Taiwan are allowed to drive vehicles only when they carry both the original license issued in the above countries/regions and a Japanese Translation of such issued by JAF, or foreign embassies or consular offices in Japan.

  You cannot rent a car with only a Myna Menkyo; a Japanese driver’s license is required. If using automated immigration gates, ask staff for a stamp/seal to prove your entry date—without it, you cannot rent a car. If you’re registered in Japan’s Resident Register and re-enter within 3 months (not cumulatively), your re-entry date won’t count as the "landing date" for international license validity.
